Poor quality shows on a sizeable necklace so it is worthwhile spending on this item; however it does not mean that you don’t get play if you don’t splurge. Regardless of price, pay attention to the workmanship (whichever applies); stitching is neat and tight, beads are sewn in properly, metal does not tarnish, color does not rub off on clothes, does not itch, and I’d usually avoid anything with diamante.

2. Weight:

To have fun wearing this big neck piece, it’s important that the necklace is not putting too much weight pressure on the back of your neck. Which is why I love my marni piece which is made of light-weight and unbreakable lucite resin and satin ribbon)

3. Size:

• Length: Necklaces that are adjustable are perfect for you to work length based on the size of the necklace against your height and frame.
• Width: a good rule of thumb I use is to note the width of the necklace against the width of your face; avoid anything that is way too wide for your face
