“Designers practice the art of origami this season with fabulously fluid or razor sharp pleats bringing movement to mini and maxi dresses.” net-a-porter
I slept and woke up to Issey Miyake paradise. Pleats had overtaken the world and showing up re-pleat-edly.

Most of the pleats we are seeing this season is in the form of skirts, but the way most pleats are made, it has the capacity to cause the tummy and hips area to be bigger than they really are; more so that any other types of types of skirts.
So this means that it’s a great curve-booster for the straight body types.
The pleats do an excellent job adding just enough volume to the bottom with a good amount of flow and ease of movement for the boy-shapes.
Pleats are deceivingly unforgiving to the women’s body otherwise.
If you have a smaller top vs your bottom, look for pleats that are sewn down so that they do not add additional volume around the tummy and hips area.

Monochrome+red lip = hot trend! I like your note on pleated skirts which flatters boyish figures. Good tip. I may look for pleats to start from the hips to avoid the volume:)
