“We’re feeling blue – or so suggest the SS12 collections where brilliant shades of ultramarine, cerulean and sapphire are worn top to toe.” net-a-porter
No. We are not feeling blue.
What we are doing though is taking over the color of calm from the Men and making it our own.
When it comes to styling an outfit based on colors, the same rules apply (Click to learn how to wear pastels or how to color-block your outfit).
Keep the intensity of the colors at the same level – i.e. pastels with pastels / brights with brights. And, take advantage of this season’s color-blocking trend to go all out.
For a monochromatic outfit, pair blues with marine greens; and for a color block, blue goes perfectly well with yellow/gold, or with pink/silver. The rest is up to your imagination.
As a new fan of neons, I electrified the True Blue trend with an outfit consisting of a bright cerulean skirt, neon yellow jacket, bright magenta clutch, and royal blue wedges.
Everybody, put your shades on.

Wow! I so love this look! I’m so envious of the neon yellow jacket!
Love all the colors in this outfit! The neon and fushcia together are perfect.
